How to Play PokéSurvivor Mobile in Your Browser
Your favorite Pokémon has a horde to survive, and your phone is enough to join the fight. PokéSurvivor mobile runs in your browser, bringing automatic attacks, evolving moves, and four-player co-op to a landscape touchscreen. Getting comfortable with PokéSurvivor mobile means learning how to steer, switch attacks, and save your collection before those quick practice runs turn into longer sessions.
The game combines Pokémon partners with the survival loop of Vampire Survivors and Survivor.io. You explore an endless map, collect experience, and choose upgrades while wild Pokémon close in. Your active move fires automatically, leaving you responsible for positioning and escape routes.
PokéSurvivor is a free, nonprofit fan project with no ads or purchases. Optional donations support its operation and provide no gameplay advantages. It is unaffiliated with Nintendo, GAME FREAK, and The Pokémon Company.
To start on a phone or tablet:
- Open the PokéSurvivor game website in your browser.
- Rotate your device into landscape.
- Create an account, sign in with Google, or choose guest play.
- Complete the personality quiz and accept its partner suggestion or choose another.
- Start a run and practice dragging to move before enemies surround you.
The partner selection includes starters from every region, plus additional choices. You do not have to keep the quiz’s suggestion.
Create an account before building a collection you want to keep. Account progress saves in the cloud and carries across devices; guest progress is not saved. You can also use “Add to Home Screen” to give the browser game an app-style launch shortcut.
Learn the Touch Controls Before the Screen Gets Crowded
PokéSurvivor mobile uses a joystick that appears wherever you touch the playfield. Drag your finger to move, then tap a move icon when you want to change attacks.

| Action | Phone or tablet control | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Move | Touch the playfield and drag | Steers your Pokémon |
| Switch moves | Tap a move icon | Changes the active move |
| Attack | Automatic with the active move | Uses your selected attack without repeated tapping |
| Open pause | Tap the top-right button | Opens the pause interface |
Movement matters because automatic combat does not protect you from being surrounded. Move in broad circles to draw enemies behind you, and leave room to change direction when another group approaches.
Practice switching moves while moving through open space. Your available move slots give you different attacks to select; they do not make every learned move fire simultaneously.
Check your active move after learning another attack. A newly learned move becomes active immediately, which can change your range or damage output at an awkward moment.
Ground markers also deserve your attention. Filling circles and lines signal incoming attacks. Step outside them before they finish rather than trying to squeeze in another experience pickup.
The game supports English and Spanish. It follows your browser language initially, and you can change the language in Settings.
Build Around Your Active Move, Types, and Weather
A PokéSurvivor mobile run grows through experience pickups. Defeated enemies leave experience on the ground, and collecting it fills your level bar. Each level-up offers three cards, including new moves, move upgrades, or boosts for your Pokémon.
Walk through safe clusters of experience instead of leaving them behind indefinitely. Keep an escape route available; a pile of pickups inside a dense crowd is a reason to circle back after clearing space.
Choose Upgrades That Solve the Current Problem
Strengthen the attack you are actively using when enemies stop falling quickly enough. Choose movement or survival upgrades when you are getting caught. Adding another move gives you another option to switch into, so consider its type and range before selecting it.
Move evolution requires preparation. Raise the move to its maximum level, take its required upgrade during that run, and select the gold evolution card when offered. Ember can become Fire Blast, while Bubble can become Surf.
Permanent upgrades do not replace the upgrade card required within a run. Keep that distinction in mind when an attack is fully leveled but still waiting to evolve.
Switch for Type Advantage
Type effectiveness applies to your attacks and incoming damage. PokéSurvivor softens the familiar Pokémon matchups: super-effective hits deal ×1.6 damage, resisted hits deal ×0.6, and traditional immunities become ×0.3. Dual-type modifiers multiply, with a maximum of ×2.4.
Switch to a suitable attack when the current one struggles against the enemies ahead. Preserve useful coverage when choosing between otherwise appealing level-up cards.
Weather changes the value of those attacks further:
| Weather | Effect |
|---|---|
| Rain | Strengthens Water and weakens Fire |
| Harsh sunlight | Strengthens Fire and weakens Water |
| Sandstorm | Boosts Rock, Ground, and Steel; other types suffer |
| Snowfall | Boosts Ice; other types suffer and slow down |
| Fog | Boosts Ghost, Fairy, and Psychic |
Reconsider your active move when weather changes. A Fire attack that was clearing enemies comfortably can lose effectiveness in rain.
Enemy roles matter, too. Some heal or shield allies, summon reinforcements, explode, or launch telegraphed beams. Target healers and shield providers when you can reach them safely instead of continually attacking the crowd they support.
Read Held Item Tradeoffs Before Equipping Them
Held items can appear in chests and after boss defeats. You can carry only one at a time, and finding another lets you choose which to keep. Its effect lasts for the run.
PokéSurvivor mobile gives these familiar items specific survival-game effects. Read the full effect before choosing a damage bonus.
| Held item | Effect |
|---|---|
| Leftovers | Restores 1.5% of your HP per second |
| Choice Band | Adds 40% damage and prevents move switching |
| Quick Claw | Reduces move cooldowns by 20% |
| Assault Vest | Provides 20% damage reduction |
| Choice Scarf | Adds 35% speed |
| Life Orb | Adds 30% damage, but attacks consume some HP |
| Lucky Egg | Adds 30% experience |
| Amulet Coin | Adds 50% PokéCoins at the end of the run |
Check which move is active before accepting Choice Band. Its switching restriction matters when your plan depends on changing attacks for type matchups.
Compare recovery and protection against the damage you are actually taking. Leftovers restores health over time, while Assault Vest reduces damage. Life Orb trades health for offense, so account for that cost before replacing a defensive item.
Choose Amulet Coin with its opportunity cost in mind: equipping it uses the same single slot as your survival items.
Unlock Partners, Collect Shinies, and Spend Coins Carefully
PokéSurvivor mobile has 966 playable Pokémon across nine regions, from Kanto through Paldea. Each partner has its own moves and permanent upgrades.
Regional gacha pools use tickets earned through gameplay. Tickets cannot be bought with real money, and coins serve a separate purpose in upgrading your partners.
| Collection or progression system | How it works |
|---|---|
| Regional gacha | Uses earned tickets to unlock Pokémon from regional pools |
| Regular enemy tickets | Drop occasionally during play |
| Legendary rift victory | Awards a ×10 gacha ticket |
| Wild shinies | Each spawning Pokémon has a 1-in-4,096 shiny chance |
| Gacha shinies | Each pull has a 1-in-100 shiny chance |
| Duplicate shinies | Award triple PokéCoins |
| Permanent upgrades | Apply to the individual Pokémon receiving them |
Choose the region containing the Pokémon you want before spending tickets. Completing a regional collection involves random pulls, so keep broader collection goals alongside any specific target.
Wild shinies sparkle and trigger an alert. Defeating one adds it to your collection. Once you own a partner’s shiny form, select it from your collection to play with it.
Spend coins on the Pokémon you intend to keep using. Upgrades bought for one partner do not strengthen the entire roster. Check the selected Pokémon before purchasing upgrades after changing partners.
Daily and weekly missions provide recurring objectives. The game has 130 achievements covering collection, survival, combat, rifts, legendary victories, and group play. Achievements award medals, tickets, and coins, with harder objectives also unlocking profile titles.
Review those goals between runs. Surviving longer, evolving moves, and expanding your collection can advance different milestones without requiring a completely different play session.
Take on Legendary Rifts and Four-Player Co-op
Rifts turn a regular PokéSurvivor mobile run into a legendary encounter. Entering one takes you to an arena associated with the legendary’s type, with its own terrain and weather.
There are 18 arenas, one for each type. Dual-type legendaries randomly use one of their types for the arena. Terrain affects movement: lava burns, ice is slippery, and water slows you down.
Check your health, active attack, and coverage before entering. A victory earns a ×10 gacha ticket; losing sends you back to the map without the reward. In group play, everyone enters together.
Co-op supports up to four players:
| Co-op feature | How it works |
|---|---|
| Accounts | Each player uses an account and nickname |
| Friends | Add teammates through their nicknames |
| Room setup | Invite friends into a room and start together |
| Experience | Shared across the group |
| Reviving | Stand beside a fallen teammate |
| Group menus | The game continues while you are in the pause interface |
Agree on complementary attack coverage before starting. Call out dangerous enemy groups and ground markers, and clear nearby threats before standing beside a teammate to revive them.
Do not assume opening a menu stops a group run. Move toward safer space before making a selection, and keep watching the battlefield.
Group connections can link players’ browsers directly, allowing teammates to see one another’s IP addresses. Play with people you know.
To begin your next PokéSurvivor mobile session, open the game and choose your partner. Start with movement and one dependable attack, then build toward move evolution, collection goals, or a coordinated rift attempt.
FAQ
Can I play PokéSurvivor mobile without downloading an app?
Yes. PokéSurvivor mobile runs directly in your phone or tablet browser in landscape. “Add to Home Screen” is optional and provides an app-style way to launch it.
Does progress carry between my phone and PC?
Yes. An account created with a name and password or Google saves progress in the cloud, letting you continue across devices. Guest play does not save progress, so create an account before investing time in upgrades and collection goals.
Is PokéSurvivor free, including its gacha?
Yes. The game has no ads or purchases. Gacha tickets come from playing and cannot be bought with real money. Optional donations support the project and give no in-game advantage.
Can four players play together on mobile?
Yes. Online co-op supports up to four players, and mobile is a supported platform. Add friends by nickname, invite them into a room, and start together. Experience is shared, fallen teammates can be revived by standing nearby, and opening your pause interface does not stop the group game.
