How Does PokéSurvivor Gacha Work?
Your next favorite partner could be one ticket away in PokéSurvivor gacha. Understanding its regional banners and guarantees helps you spend earned tickets toward the Pokémon you actually want. PokéSurvivor gacha uses gameplay rewards, with nine regional pools, a guaranteed high-rarity result in every ten-pull, and a separate Legendary pity counter for each banner.
The game features 966 playable Pokémon across Kanto through Paldea. You choose a starting partner, earn tickets during runs, and use the Gacha menu to expand your collection. Unlocking more partners gives you different moves and permanent upgrade tracks to explore.
There are two ticket formats:
- Normal tickets: Spend one for a single pull or ten for a ×10 pull.
- Special ×10 tickets: Spend one for a full batch of ten Pokémon.
Tickets cannot be purchased with real money. PokéSurvivor is a free, nonprofit fan game, and voluntary donations provide no gameplay advantage.
To start pulling, open Gacha from the main menu, choose a region, and select the pull option your tickets cover. Afterward, open your Pokémon collection to select an unlocked partner.
Create an account before investing time in your collection. Online account progress saves to the cloud and carries across devices; guest play does not save your progress. On phones and tablets, play in landscape.
The rates and guarantees below apply to the October 14, 2026 game revision, commit 5374405.
Pull Rates, Ten-Pull Guarantees, and Legendary Pity
PokéSurvivor gacha separates results into five rarity tiers. The standard rates favor Common and Uncommon Pokémon, while a natural 5★ result has a 1.5% chance per pull.

| Rarity | Standard pull rate | Normal duplicate refund |
|---|---|---|
| 1★ Common | 45% | 15 coins |
| 2★ Uncommon | 30% | 30 coins |
| 3★ Rare | 17% | 60 coins |
| 4★ Epic | 6.5% | 120 coins |
| 5★ Legendary | 1.5% | 300 coins |
These are the base rarity rates. The ten-pull guarantee and hard pity can change an individual result, so the standard percentages do not describe every slot in every batch.
What does a ten-pull guarantee?
Every ×10 pull contains at least one 4★ Epic or 5★ Legendary. If the first nine results contain neither rarity, the tenth slot uses a restricted roll.
That forced slot has an 81.25% chance of being 4★ and an 18.75% chance of being 5★. Those percentages apply only when the fallback activates.
Save ten normal tickets when you want this guarantee. Ten separate single pulls do not carry the same batch guarantee.
| Mechanic | Trigger | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Ten-pull guarantee | First nine slots have no 4★ or 5★ | Tenth slot is at least 4★ |
| Forced tenth-slot roll | Ten-pull fallback activates | 81.25% Epic, 18.75% Legendary |
| Hard pity | 69 consecutive pulls without a 5★ on one banner | Pull 70 guarantees a 5★ |
| Pity reset | A 5★ appears on that banner | That banner’s counter returns to zero |
How does the 70-pull pity work?
Each regional banner tracks its own pulls without a Legendary. After 69 consecutive pulls without a 5★, the next pull on that banner guarantees one.
Any Legendary resets that counter, whether it arrives naturally, through the ten-pull fallback, or at hard pity.
For example, if your Kanto counter is at 60, a Legendary must arrive within your next ten Kanto pulls. Pulling on Paldea instead uses Paldea’s counter and leaves your Kanto progress separate.
Pity guarantees a rarity, not a particular Pokémon. It can also award a Legendary you already own. Keep that distinction in mind when you are chasing one missing partner.
Choose a Regional Banner Around Your Collection Goal
The nine banners are Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova, Kalos, Alola, Galar, and Paldea. Choose the region containing your target before spending tickets.
PokéSurvivor gacha gives each banner the same standard rarity rates, but the number of Pokémon within each rarity pool differs. A smaller pool means a higher base chance of pulling one particular member of that tier.
For a standard pull, the calculation is:
Chance of one Pokémon = its rarity’s rate ÷ the number of Pokémon in that rarity pool.
The following figures show the base chance of one particular 5★ Pokémon within each banner. They exclude hard pity and the ten-pull fallback.
| Regional banner | Base chance of one specific 5★ per pull |
|---|---|
| Kanto | 0.25% |
| Johto | 0.214% |
| Hoenn | 0.115% |
| Sinnoh | 0.1% |
| Unova | 0.107% |
| Kalos | 0.214% |
| Alola | 0.088% |
| Galar | 0.125% |
| Paldea | 0.125% |
Use these numbers to set expectations. The 1.5% Legendary rate is the chance of any standard 5★ result, not the chance of receiving your chosen Legendary.
Follow this spending order:
- Find your desired Pokémon’s region in the collection.
- Check that banner’s existing pity counter.
- Use ×10 pulls when you have enough tickets and want the Epic guarantee.
- Continue on that banner until its Legendary arrives if that is your goal.
- Reassess your target after the counter resets.
Switch banners when you want Pokémon from another region. Your existing counters remain separate, so switching spreads your progress rather than transferring it.
Avoid choosing a banner solely because its specific-Legendary odds are higher. Pull where your target actually lives.
Earn Tickets and Turn Duplicates Into Upgrades
PokéSurvivor gacha depends on the rewards you earn while surviving. Regular enemies occasionally drop tickets, bosses can drop special ×10 tickets, and achievements award tickets and coins.
Rifts add another route: enter a portal, defeat its Legendary opponent, and collect the reward. Losing the encounter sends you back to the map without the rift reward.
| Reward route | What you earn | Required action |
|---|---|---|
| Regular wild Pokémon | Occasional normal tickets | Defeat enemies during runs |
| Bosses | Possible ×10 tickets | Defeat bosses |
| Legendary rifts | A ×10 ticket for a win | Win the Legendary arena battle |
| Achievements | Tickets and coins | Complete the achievement’s condition |
| Duplicate pulls | Coins based on rarity | Pull a Pokémon you already own |
Build runs around reaching rewards safely
Improve your survival before trying to rush every reward opportunity. More movement control and dependable damage help you reach bosses, collect drops, and attempt rifts with a working build.
- Move in wide circles to draw pursuing enemies into a line.
- Collect dropped experience so kills become level-ups.
- Upgrade the move you actively use when your damage falls behind.
- Switch attacks for favorable type matchups.
- Eliminate healers and shield-casters before their support makes the surrounding horde harder to clear.
- Leave ground attack markers before the attacks land.
Only your active move normally attacks. Carrying several moves gives you switching options; bonded moves can fire together from a single slot.
Before entering a rift, check your health and available attacks. The arenas use type-themed terrain and weather, including hazards such as burning lava and slippery ice. Enter with a build you can control, rather than chasing the ticket reward while barely staying alive.
Spend duplicate refunds on a partner you use
Duplicates automatically become coins. A Common duplicate returns 15 coins, while a Legendary duplicate returns 300.
Use those refunds to strengthen a partner you enjoy playing. Permanent upgrades belong to individual Pokémon, so upgrading Bulbasaur does not strengthen a newly unlocked partner.
Check the selected Pokémon before buying upgrades. Then spend toward the problem ending your runs, whether that is movement speed, damage, health, or another available stat.
Keep your tickets and coins mentally separate: tickets unlock partners through pulls, while coins purchase permanent upgrades. A duplicate can still advance your current partner even when it does not fill a collection slot.
Shiny Odds and Collection Planning
PokéSurvivor gacha has a 1-in-100 shiny chance per pull. Wild Pokémon have a 1-in-4,096 chance per spawn.
That makes a gacha pull roughly 41 times as likely to produce a shiny as one wild spawn. The comparison is per opportunity: a run includes many spawns, while each pull consumes a ticket.
| Shiny route | Stated shiny chance | How you obtain it |
|---|---|---|
| Gacha | 1 in 100 per pull | Receive a shiny pull result |
| Wild encounter | 1 in 4,096 per spawn | Defeat the shiny Pokémon |
| Duplicate shiny | Triple the normal coin refund | Receive a duplicate shiny result |
The roster contains 958 Pokémon with shiny forms out of 966 total. Once you own a partner’s shiny form, select it in your collection to play with that appearance.
Keep rarity and shininess separate
A shiny result and a Legendary result answer different questions. Rarity determines the tier you pulled; shininess determines whether the Pokémon has its alternate coloration.
The 70-pull pity guarantees a 5★ Pokémon, not a shiny. Likewise, the ten-pull guarantee promises an Epic or Legendary, without promising an alternate color.
Plan PokéSurvivor gacha spending around your goal:
- For a particular partner, use its regional banner.
- For a Legendary, concentrate pulls on that banner’s pity counter.
- For an Epic-or-better batch, save for ×10 pulls.
- For shiny collection, keep earning tickets while watching for sparkling wild encounters.
When a wild shiny appears, defeat it to add it to your collection. Approach through a safe opening instead of cutting through the horde for it.
Start your next run at the official PokéSurvivor game website, earn tickets, and choose your next banner before opening the Gacha menu.
FAQ
Can you buy PokéSurvivor gacha tickets with real money?
No. Tickets come from gameplay and cannot be purchased. PokéSurvivor is a free, nonprofit fan project, and optional donations give no gameplay advantage.
Should you use single pulls or ten-pulls?
Save for ten-pulls when you want the guaranteed 4★-or-better result. A ×10 pull costs ten normal tickets or one special ×10 ticket. Single pulls cost one normal ticket and still advance that banner’s Legendary pity.
Does pity carry between regional banners?
Each banner keeps an independent counter. Kanto pulls advance Kanto pity; Paldea pulls advance Paldea pity. Switching regions does not transfer progress, and receiving a Legendary resets only the counter for the banner you used.
Does hard pity guarantee the Legendary you want?
No. Hard pity guarantees a 5★ from the selected regional pool after 69 consecutive pulls without one. It does not guarantee a named Pokémon, a new collection entry, or a shiny. Legendary duplicates convert into 300 coins.
