What Is the PokéSurvivor App?

The PokéSurvivor app puts you one wrong turn away from getting surrounded by wild Pokémon. Its automatic attacks leave you free to dodge, collect experience, and switch moves as the battlefield fills up. You can play the PokéSurvivor app directly in your browser or add it to your home screen, making it easy to return to your collection on a phone, tablet, or PC.

This is a free Pokémon fan game built around the survival loop of Vampire Survivors and Survivor.io. Choose a partner, move through an endless map, and strengthen your build through level-up choices. Familiar Pokémon types, evolving moves, weather, and legendary encounters give you more to consider than simply outrunning the nearest enemy.

Browser Play and Home Screen Setup

Open PokéSurvivor to start playing. Installation is optional: the browser version already gives you access to the game.

To add the PokéSurvivor app to your phone, use your browser’s Add to Home Screen option. Rotate your device into landscape before playing; the mobile interface uses horizontal orientation.

Create an account with a name and password or sign in through Google before investing time in collection goals. Account progress is stored in the cloud, so you can continue on another device.

If you use a password account, link your Gmail through the game’s account prompt. That gives you a Google sign-in route back to the same account if you forget your password.

The game supports English and Spanish, with the initial language based on your browser. Change it in Settings if needed. There are no ads or purchases, and optional donations provide no gameplay advantage.

Learn the Controls Before the Hordes Close In

Combat in the PokéSurvivor app centers on movement and move selection. Your partner automatically uses its active move, while you decide where to stand and which attack to select.

Learning several moves gives you options to switch between. Keep track of the selected move instead of assuming every occupied slot attacks independently.

On mobile, the movement joystick appears where you touch. Practice steering and changing moves while the screen is manageable. You will need both when enemies approach from several directions.

Your Opening Priorities

  1. Keep moving in wide circles. Make the horde follow your route while preserving space ahead of you.
  2. Collect experience through safe openings. Defeated enemies leave experience behind; walk over it to build toward another level.
  3. Strengthen an attack you already use. Choose upgrades that help your active move handle the enemies around you.
  4. Watch the ground. Filling circles and lines warn you that an attack is about to land.
  5. Target support enemies. Remove Pokémon that heal or shield nearby allies before committing to the surrounding crowd.

Every level offers three cards. These can introduce a move, upgrade one you already know, or boost your partner. Read the choices against the problem on screen: an attack upgrade addresses weak damage, while movement or defensive options can address enemies reaching you.

Avoid crossing a packed group for one experience pickup. Circle back when your attacks have created room. Keeping an escape route matters more than collecting every drop immediately.

Enemy roles also change how you approach a crowd. Some summon help, some explode, and others fire beams with ground warnings. Watch their behavior instead of treating every approaching Pokémon as the same threat.

Build Around Move Evolutions and One Held Item

The PokéSurvivor app combines temporary run choices with permanent upgrades for individual Pokémon. Each partner has its own moves and upgrade track, so coins spent strengthening one Pokémon do not strengthen your entire collection.

Spend coins on a partner you regularly play. Use later runs to judge whether damage, durability, or movement is the weakness you need to address.

Plan Your Move Evolution

Moves can evolve once they reach maximum level and you have the required upgrade. Ember becomes Fire Blast, while Bubble becomes Surf.

Build toward a specific evolution instead of distributing every upgrade across unrelated moves. A stronger active attack can help you clear the space needed to collect more experience.

Keep permanent upgrades separate from evolution requirements during a run. The required run upgrade is part of the evolution path; your partner’s permanent progression serves a different purpose.

Choose Your Held Item Carefully

You can find held items in chests and through boss defeats. You have one held item slot, and the item lasts for the run. Finding another means choosing which one to keep.

Held itemEffectTradeoff or limit
LeftoversRestores 1.5% of HP per secondUses your single item slot
Choice BandAdds 40% damagePrevents move switching
Quick ClawReduces cooldowns on all moves by 20%Uses your single item slot
Focus SashA knockout hit leaves you at 1 HPCan trigger every 60 seconds
Life OrbAdds 30% damageEach attack costs some HP
Amulet CoinAdds 50% PokéCoins at the end of the runReplaces any currently held item
Assault VestProvides 20% damage reductionUses your single item slot

Check your current build before accepting a replacement. Keep access to move switching if you rely on changing types frequently; Choice Band removes that flexibility.

Watch your health when using Life Orb. Its damage bonus comes with an ongoing HP cost, so avoid adding unnecessary contact damage on top of it.

Likewise, weigh Amulet Coin against the item helping you survive. The extra currency applies at the end of the run, while replacing a defensive item changes your situation immediately.

Unlock Pokémon, Hunt Shinies, and Track Rewards

There are 966 playable Pokémon across nine regions, from Kanto through Paldea. Each can become your partner, with shiny forms available where they exist.

Your starting selection includes starters from every region and two additional partners. A personality test suggests a match, but you can choose another partner before heading into the dungeon.

The PokéSurvivor app expands your collection through regional gacha pools using tickets earned in gameplay. Tickets cannot be purchased with real money.

Collection or reward systemHow it worksKey detail
Regional gachaSpend earned tickets on a region’s poolCovers all nine regions
Regular enemy ticketsCollect occasional ticket dropsEarned during runs
Legendary rift victoryDefeat the legendary in its arenaAwards a ×10 gacha ticket
Wild shiniesDefeat a sparkling shiny Pokémon1 in 4,096 chance per spawn
Gacha shiniesReceive a shiny from a pull1 in 100 chance per pull
Duplicate shiniesReceive a shiny you already ownGrants triple PokéCoins

Choose the region containing the Pokémon you want before spending tickets. The regional split lets you direct your pulls toward a particular collection goal.

For shiny hunting, distinguish the two odds. A gacha pull has a 1 in 100 shiny chance, while a wild spawn has a 1-in-4,096 chance. Neither rate guarantees a shiny after a particular number of attempts.

Wild shinies sparkle and trigger an alert. Defeat one to add it to your collection, then select the shiny form from your collection when you want to play with it.

Give Your Runs a Collection Goal

Check daily and weekly missions before starting. Pair those objectives with a partner you want to upgrade or a regional pool you want to work toward.

The achievement roster contains 130 achievements. They cover collection, survival, combat, rifts, legendary defeats, missions, and group play. Achievements award medals and rewards, with harder milestones also unlocking profile titles.

Pick a nearby milestone—such as surviving five minutes, defeating a boss, or evolving a move—and build your next run around it.

Handle Type Matchups, Legendary Rifts, and Co-op

Type effectiveness applies to both your attacks and incoming damage. PokéSurvivor adjusts the familiar Pokémon chart for its survival combat: super-effective hits deal ×1.6 damage, resisted hits deal ×0.6, and immunities become ×0.3. Dual-type multipliers combine with a cap of ×2.4.

Switch to a move that exploits the enemies ahead of you. Recheck that choice when weather changes.

WeatherType effects
RainStrengthens Water and weakens Fire
Harsh sunlightStrengthens Fire and weakens Water
SandstormStrengthens Rock, Ground, and Steel; other types suffer
SnowfallStrengthens Ice; other types suffer and slow down
FogStrengthens Ghost, Fairy, and Psychic

Enter Rifts With Room to Survive

Rifts appear occasionally and lead to legendary battles. There are 18 arenas, one for each type, and 87 legendary opponents.

Arena terrain affects movement: lava burns, ice is slippery, and water slows you down. A dual-type legendary randomly uses one of its types for the arena.

Check your health, active move, and ability to dodge before entering. Winning awards a ×10 gacha ticket; losing returns you to the main map without the reward. In co-op, the whole group enters together.

Set Up a Four-Player Group

The PokéSurvivor app supports online co-op for up to four players. Each player needs an account and a nickname.

Add friends by nickname, invite them to your room, and start once everyone has joined. Experience is shared, and you revive a fallen teammate by standing beside them.

Clear nearby threats before approaching a downed partner. Coordinate different move types so the group has options when enemy matchups or weather change.

Group connections can link teammates’ browsers directly, allowing players to see one another’s IP addresses. Play with people you know, as the game’s privacy notice recommends.

Also remember that opening the pause menu during a group game does not stop the action. Move somewhere safer before checking settings.
